Each pair of cufflinks is hand-painted in the United States using genuine coins from around the globe. Coins are selected for quality and condition, and each is individually painted, set, and enameledÑentirely by hand. Using magnifying glasses and specialized brushes, artists add one color at a time to accentuate the coinsÕ existing embossing. After each colorÕs application, coins are tempered using high-heat firing Ð often resulting in days of work for a single cufflink set. Lastly, to protect the delicate brushwork, the coins are set within a lustrous, jewel finish resin.

Historically known either as the Buffalo Nickel or the Indian Head nickel, this coin was minted between 1913 and 1938. The model for the portrait is disputed, but the artist took inspiration from Chief Iron Tail of the Oglala Lakota, Big Tree of the Kiowa, and Chief Two Moons of the Cheyenne.

As each coin is unique, some variation in color, design, or date should be expected from the product photos. Sold as a pair.
